VINEYARD
Select premium vineyards were chosen for their intense varietal flavour and picked at their peak.
SEASON
Another dry winter followed by late spring rains enabled vines to produce a healthy crop of fruit. A warm summer started this harvest early kicking off in the last week of January. With crops slightly lighter than average and no disease, quality is above average.
TASTING NOTE
Light straw. Lifted aromas of ripe peach and nectarine complemented with decent lick of vanilla oak. The palate is soft and creamy and exhibits ripe stone fruits. Integrated oak and a gentle acid nuance for a very long finish.
WINE STYLE
A lovely luscious, Australian Chardonnay!
WINEMAKING
A large percentage of juice was handled oxidatively. This develops a richer and riper stone fruit spectrum in the resultant wine. Fermentation is completed on oak, this allows for quicker and greater integration between the fruit and oak for a harmonious balance. Some parcels are left natural to go through malolactic fermentation, further softening the acid profile. The wines are left on light primary and secondary lees to add creaminess and weight.
